WX 16 WEEKEND RECAP – TERJE INTERVIEW AND VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS

It was a busy weekend indeed for the action sports world. Here we have a few highlight videos for your Monday. Aspen’s Winter X Games 16 is all wrapped up, and history has been made.
Canada’s Mark McMorris ruled the snow world in both big air and slope, White ruled the pipe with an insane run, Holland won snow cross, but nobody watches that anyway. Mark McMorris is the man and he will be watched closely as 2014 approaches, when slope style will be added to the Olympics.

In the ski cross, skiers protested each other’s outfits, a finalist was disqualified, and it would appear that the rules of X Ski Cross could use a revision. With a start gate elevated in the air, and one of the largest and fastest courses in history, Ski and Snow Cross continue to be all about the hole shot and avoiding crashes. Any notion that uniforms and aerodynamics play a role in winning or losing is completely ridiculous.

Things kick off from there with a great interview from Snowboarder’s long time editor Pat Bridges, with snowboard legend Terje. Terje talks about progression, athletes, events, and the future of the sport.

In the Real Snow Contest, Paradis took home the most fan votes. But once the judging panel stepped up, they rightfully selected Brisse for the win. Congrats to all 8 guys from this contest, every section was charging.
