Shaun Walsh at Jaws – Ride of the Year Entry in the Billabong XXL Big Wave Awards 2012

Surfers are still going off as usual. Early in the year we brought you footage of Dave Wassel killing it at Jaws if you missed that you can check it out here, now we have Shaun Walsh putting it all on the line with this massive paddle in wave. Looks like 2012 is going to be another huge year for big wave surfing and the XXL Awards are stacking up fast. The wave is measured at 50 feet and Shaun stands among the elite who are able to successfully paddle into waves this size.

Shaun Walsh had the following to say about the wave :

“As the wave was coming I knew I was in the right position, I didn’t want to waste any energy paddling just turn around and go. It just picked me up perfectly, It felt like I was riding a magic carpet with my heart in my mouth”
