Life Cycles a different kind of bike film
Life Cycles is a film in short about the birth of a mountain bike, the journey through its life and all the riding that is done on it and eventually its demise. The movie captures the riding of the bike with some of the best free-ride mountain bikers in the world and has some of the most visually pleasing cinematography that you will ever see in a mountain bike movie. The idea of this movie was spawned and brough to life by Ryan Gibb and Derek Frankowski who happen to be two of the best filers and photographers in the game. Ryan Gibb was born in Calgary, but currently lives in Rossland, BC and Derek Frankowski is a prairie-duster from Regina, Saskatchewan and has been a bike photographer for about 10 years spending the last 5 in Rossland B.C. These two guys wanted to make a unique film based around the one tool that makes all these films possible and that is the bike. How are the made? What do they see and go through during their life cycle and when do they meet their demise? Make no mistake this film is not a full art film with a lack of riding, there is every bit the amount of riding that there is in other films, it is just presented in a different way and that is where the magic of this project lies.
Here is a run down from the men behind the film who will give you some insight into their idea and their vision as film makers. After that be sure to check out the official trailer to the film and keep your eyes open for this movie.
