We will be dropping our exclusive video interview with Kyle Loza next week. Recently Action Recon spent the day out at Loza’s riding compound where we talked with him about all that he has going on, filmed him jumping over some exotic cars and got a nice look into his life and passions. Be sure to check back next week for the full feature. For now here is a little preview of what’s to come.

Tomorrow night Action Recon will be out in full force at the La Coka Nostra and Swollen Members concert. We will bring you exclusive photos, a review of the show and maybe even a couple mini interviews from some of the various MC talent involved in this event. We don’t need to go into any specifics about how amazing an athlete Danny Way is, we don’t need to tell you how much he has progressed skateboarding and how he has shattered almost any odds that ever existed in the sport and in his own life. What we will tell you is that the feature length documentary called “Waiting For Lightning” will be hitting the big screen at the South By South West film festival next month and its going to me a momentous occasion. If ever there was an action sports athlete that needed his story told Danny Way is that athlete.

The film was directed by Jacob Rosenberg and his team the Bandito Brothers and from what we hear once the movie has premiered at the SXSW festival it will make a run through the international skateboard community and possibly a theatrical release later in the year.

Danny Way has been quoted as saying he wanted Jacob to make the movie because, “we grew up together and we were both mentored by the same person [the late Mike Ternasky of Plan B Skateboards]. We learned about life through many of the same experiences so our points of view and opinions are parallel. It wouldn’t make sense for anybody else to make my movie. I think we have a mutual respect for each other and what we do, as I believe Jacob approaches filmmaking the same way I approach skateboarding, with innovation and unique style.”

Below are two teasers for the movie, the first was a collection of athletes and industry people who were asked to describe Danny Way in one word. Not an easy thing to do as you will see. The second is the official theoretical trailer which will get you very amped for the release. Check them out.
